Finding a Solution
Mike had previously worked with Garrett on the design of an additional 18 holes for Indian Hills in the early 2000s. Although a second course was tabled ... wisely, Mike and Garrett stayed in touch and Gill Design worked on a bunker improvement project at Indian Hills in 2017-18. With waters rising and the specter of a second season of a flooded golf course, Mike engaged Gill Design to design a new trio of holes.
Land was chosen to the Northeast of existing holes at Indian Hills. #5 would play as a downhill par 5 shooting out of the trees and into farmland. The par 4 #6 hole would climb out of the farmland and dogleg into the woods. #7 would play as a downhill par 3 from current woodland to the existing 7th green.
